The design develops by honoring both the opportunities and the constraints. Together with the client, we explore design alternatives before synthesizing a final plan. I received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin in 1973. I interned with the Peridian Group in Pasadena and Corona del Mar. I founded Lifescape Associates in Colorado in 1976.
Lifescape was a pioneer in the design/build industry, setting the bar in creativity for outdoor spaces. I moved to Santa Rosa in 2013 and started Landzen.

Madison, Wisconsin is my hometown.
Later I grew up on Lake Minnetonka, just west of Minneapolis.
After high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
My studies focused on Landscape Architecture, and I received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture in 1973.
While in school, I spent a summer internship with the Peridian Group, a landscape architecture and planning firm with offices in Pasadena and Corona del Mar.
The west has been beckoning me ever since!
After graduation from college, I found myself locating near my parents' new home in Denver, Colorado.
Later I grew up on Lake Minnetonka, just west of Minneapolis.
