My name is Frank Zottolo owner of Zscape Landscape Designs. I'm passionate about gardens and I want you to feel passionate about your garden. I've worked as a landscape designer in San Diego since 1973, so I know exactly what it takes to get the job done, thereafter giving you years of enjoyment. Over the course of my career, I've gained a number of qualifications and won several awards.
Creating the perfect garden is about working with the client's wants and needs, designing a space that's right for them. I bring this mentality with me to every job and this helps me succeed with you. I offer an extensive range of services as a landscape designer. So, if you're looking for anything from hardscaping and water features, vegetable garden designs and night light rendering to a simple consultation on plant layout, then I'm the landscape designer for you.
No job is too big or too small, and I welcome working with small spaces. I typically work with gardens between 1,000 and 2,500 square feet in size, but will always consider projects beyond this.

Services
No question, I love to be in the garden, even many times a day.
As someone once said : "A garden is a friend you can visit anytime".
I want to create that for you, a place that becomes your friend.
Till now I've been in the landscape and design field in San Diego since 1973.
From those early beginnings of buying and working a gardening route with a friend, to establishing a landscape contracting business, earning certifications, credentials, and awards to beautifying neighborhoods, managing landscapes for high end landscape companies - and in those decades I've learned that a beautiful garden comes from a well thought out design.

Is your home architectural style/decorating style Victorian, Spanish, French country, mid-century modern, Craftsman, cottage-style, Cape Cod style, or Modern?
This plays a part outside in your overall landscape theme.
For example, a clash of styles would be a desert landscape with a French country looking house, though it would go well with a modern style home.
Let's say you had exposed wood beams and a brick hearth/fireplace inside your home.
A nice compliment outside would be a wood arbor or patio cover over a brick sitting area or brick path.

Think vertical and horizontal.
In other words, how far can i go up and how far wide.
If thinking vertical, is there an overhead structure such as a patio or roof overhang?
When thinking horizontal, how long and wide (square feet) is it?
The above considerations will determine plant types that will fit within these limits and have room to grow.
The answer is related to the first question but a concrete slab is useful insofar as the place to go and relax placing a small table and chairs to enjoy the garden you would have consisting of primarily raised planters and pots.
