Master Gardener Office is open 8:30-Noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for in-person consultations. We are available for questions at the Aiken Farmers Market from 8:00 A.M. until noon on the first Saturday of each month from April through October, and at times otherwise indicated by an announcement on our events calendar and the local newspapers and AMGA Facebook.

Do you need some help with our lawn or garden? This program is for you! Complete the RAMG form to rent a Master Gardener. Make sure to send us your photos and details so that we will respond with the appropriate answers. Visits are available from March through October. The updated and expanded Tenth Edition of Master Gardener Almanac for Aiken and Vicinity is now available and will sell for $20 to the public.

It will be sold at the Aiken County Agriculture Building at 1550 Richland Avenue, East in suite 500. It will also be sold at the Farmers Market at Richland and Williamsburg Streets on the first Saturday of each month when the Master Gardeners are present.

The updated and expanded Tenth Edition of Master Gardener Almanac for Aiken and Vicinity is now available and will sell for $20 to the public.
It will be sold at the Aiken County Agriculture Building at 1550 Richland Avenue, East in suite 500.

The almanac is also available at the monthly Lunchbox Lecture Series at Trinity United Methodist Church (3rd Friday of the months, Jan-Oct).
The hours must be recorded using the Clemson online Master Gardener Activity time reporting system as set up for you by Aiken County Consumer Horticulture Extension Agent, Vicky Bertagnolli.
Interns are required to log 40 hours of educational service in the calendar year following successful completion of the MG Training Course to become certified MGs.
Ten of these 40 hours of educational service must be volunteer hours in the Master Gardener Office and at least 4 hours of AAMG and at least 1-hour RAMG team visit + report.
Well, the "Great Recession" put a "hurt" on that initial $25K and it was not until 2016(!) that the endowment balance had recovered sufficiently such that award distributions were made.
The first recipient of the AMGA endowment was Ashley Townsend of North Augusta.
Our mission is to promote better home gardening and horticultural practices in our community through education.
Financial support is offered to organizations and groups whose request is in keeping with this mission.
If you are not already working with an Aiken Master Gardener, one will be assigned to assist you and serve as liaison to the AMGA.

NOTE: Time-sensitive submissions such as plant problem samples, nematode samples, manure samples, compost samples, leaf analyses must make prior arrangements by calling the office at 803-649-6297.
If payment is made by check, soil samples can be dropped anytime into the dropbox and must include the check.
The fee is $6/sample bag.
If payment is made by credit card, you must make prior arrangements by calling the office before the drop.
Growing plants successfully requires proper soil nutrition.
