The Greensman takes pride in doing all parts of the landscape process from design to installation, making it easy for any homeowner to have a beautiful outdoor oasis.
We specialize in pools, pergolas, patios, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, fire pits, water features, retaining walls and drainage systems.
The Greensman worked on this garden for 20 years.
The front terrace used to have a giant Oak tree so we removed traditional landscaping and replaced with the oval brick patio with the boxwoods planted in it.
There are different ways to walk through the patio, you can access the front door and side doors walking through the boxwoods.
We built all the trellis structures when the fence on the side of the house blew down in a micro burst.
In between each trellis section is a different plant to provide privacy that was an option different from replacing the fence.
You want to start spring out right, it gets the excitement started to want to be out in your yard.
It is bulb heavy if you plan early you can have spring bulbs blooming for up to three months.
Starting with crocus and small ephemeral bulbs, moving on to daffodils, tulips, allium, hyacinth, there are a lot of bulbs that are underused.
If you plan ahead and plant in fall it can really add to the spring garden!
All the great perennials and annual color start appearing in the summer.
Hydrangeas and sedums are a few of our favorites that add great color to the garden, these beauties thrive in the summer heat and bloom nearly nonstop into the fall.
An entrance sets the tone for the garden and house, it invites people up to the house.
It is the first thing your guests see and it is also the first thing you see when you come home.
Making it a statement piece with planting or a sculpture or water feature is pleasing.
Having a place to sit near the front is important, if you are waiting for someone to pick you up or if you have a moment to read the paper it is nice to add this as a design element.
Draws people out to the garden it creates focal point and atmosphere.
Weather it is a fire pit or fireplace it extends the season, with a fire you can come to the garden earlier in spring and stay later into the fall.
It reminds you of Boy or Girl Scout camp and is a great gathering place for family and friends.
