As he was working for these bigger landscape companies, as a warranty manager (fixing others simple, avoidable mistakes), he noticed something, they subcontract out their work to random contractors who don't care and provide terrible service, because (A) the subcontractor were either unlicensed or (B) their names weren't on the line, so they cut corners and did shady work.
