From the Garden to the Table: We provide cooking & health education for children, schools, families & communities. Our purpose is to promote the health and physical, academic, and creative development of youth. From the Garden to the Table is grounded in working with families and communities with low income, opportunity, and access.

We teach and model organic, green, and sustainable growing, eating, cleaning, and building practices to impact the health and future of vulnerable youth and the teachers, parents, and communities that surround them.
Services
From the Garden to the Table (FGTT) was established in 1996 by Jeffrey Smith to reach vulnerable youth and their communities with crucial health education, skills, and opportunities.
The program is devoted to organic, green, and sustainable practices and to working with low-income youth and their communities to improve their health and environment.
Since its inception, FGTT has taken its eat and live green programs to youth, parents, and schools in San Jose, Sacramento, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland.
From the Garden to the Table has designed a "Safe and Green" Kitchen for the Camelot Hotel, an SRO without kitchen facilities.
The "Safe and Green" Kitchen will be the first in-house kitchen, built with energy efficient and safety-centric appliances to provide the facilities and skills for SRO residents to prepare healthy meals for themselves and community.
From the Garden to the Table will not only teach individuals to eat healthy, sustainably, and organically, but also provide the proper training on safety procedures when operating kitchen appliances and utensils.
Since 1996, From the Garden to the Table has given youth from all economic backgrounds the knowledge, skills, and support they need to improve their health - all in a creative and nurturing environment.
We promote children reaching their full potential.
Special programs and seminars can also be designed to accommodate the needs of the community.
The purpose of the FGTT Physical Development program is to partner students' education experience with an introduction into a healthy lifestyle in nutrition and lifelong physical maintenance.
This is accomplished through embracing the concept that a physical health program is as important as the 12-year school experience they are expected to complete.
FGTT Physical Development is a well-rounded, holistic, long-term course with expected goals and mile stone achievement markers.
It is based on White Crane martial arts techniques and Tai Chi.
Young Artist Studios furnishes a different level of instruction and life preparation to youth.
The classes offered round out the holistic educational approach initiated by FGTT.
From the Garden to the Table provides the health, social, and life skills.
The lessons in Chinese Martial Arts produce mental clarity and discipline.
Young Artist Studios instills individual expression, responsibility, and uniqueness.
Creative expression is freed in an environment filled with opportunities and media to explore.
