Services
Blarney Hydroseeding is a division of Blarney Construction LLC that has been serving the South Shore since 2009.
The owner, Sean, has over 20 years of experience in the hydroseeding field.
Blarney Hydroseeding is a local family owned business that wants you to succeed in growing a lush green lawn.
Sean, his wife Bridget, their children Maryrose and Liam, along with their dog, Anton, enjoy riding around the area to admire our customers' beautiful lawns.
We use 100% wood fiber or straw fiber mulch to give you the best lawn possible.
Why is hydroseed applied using a hose aimed downward the better method?
We drag the house around the yard because it allows us to stand directly over the surface and aim the hydroseed slurry downward in an attempt to drive the seed into the soil.
This gives the best seed to soil contact and a better product overall.
By working the areas in a grid pattern (similar to the way one would spray paint a car or other large surface) we focus on applying the most even application possible.
Blarney hydroseeding avoids "fanning" the hydroseed over the are whenever possible.
Hydroseeding is an efficient and economical technique to a brand new lawn.
We create a mix, known as a slurry, consisting of top quality grass seed, fertilizer and 100% Wood fiber mulch.
We do not use any shredded paper (also known as cellulose) in our mix.
Hydroseed is a low-cost alternative to sod, hydroseeding is fast and provides a uniform application.
Germination time will depend on weather, time of year, amount of water, and other factors.
Weather permitting, you will have a full, beautiful lawn within 3-4 weeks after seeding!
Hydroseeded area should be watered twice daily, optimum is three times per day, in the morning and mid afternoon, and kept moist (not allowed to dry out) for 10 to 14 days to ensure optimum germination.
In cooler weather (Early Spring / Late Fall) please note if the hydroseed is extremely soggy in certain areas between watering sessions.
This may require shortening the watering periods of those areas.
Set mower to cut at 3 inches so as not to burn the new grass by cutting too close to the ground, especially in hot weather.
