Potager is a term in French that describes an ornamental vegetable / kitchen garden.
It was very exciting when my former clients asked ANR to design a 'potager' garden for their newly acquired lot next to their house.
They wanted to create a garden where they can grow vegetables, stroll, display art works and meditate.
Now both retired, the homeowners enjoy spending many hours in their garden throughout the season.

Anri Nozaka Rapelje is a licensed landscape architect in Washington state.
She grew up in Nagano, Japan, in the foothills of the Japanese Alps.
This beautiful natural environment cultivated her love for landscape design.
In pursuit of her dream to become a landscape designer, she came to the United States in 1993 and attended the landscape architecture program at Washington State University.
After receiving both Bachelor's and Master's degrees of Science in Landscape Architecture from WSU with numerous academic awards and recognitions, she worked with well-established landscape architecture firms in Seattle and Spokane for over 10 years.
