For this seaside home, featured in Architectural Digest, we focused on the planting design and plant selections for the front arrival garden.
Our goal was to create an inviting garden space that could withstand the harshest of coastal conditions, provide interest throughout the year and compliment the unique architecture.
We started by selecting proven coastal shrubs to anchor the garden.
Then we blended in hearty perennials and groundcovers whose attributes complemented the shrubs and provided year-round seasonal interest.
Our goal was to create an inviting garden space that could withstand the harshest of coastal conditions, provide interest throughout the year and compliment the unique architecture.

In a relatively small site, we created a garden with three separate but integrated living spaces all built for different uses.
A rustic stone camp fire is the centerpiece of the garden.
Two stone blocks on either side of the fire function as wood storage and seating.
The camp fire and a slight level change define the next spaces, a lounging and seating area, and an upper dining space located near the kitchen.
