Services
Much of our staff has been with us for over fifteen years, so you can be assured of getting the right answers to your landscaping and gardening questions.
Yes, they have training and education, but their real wisdom comes from a deep passion for plants and gardening.
As soon as you talk with them, this will be very apparent.
They simply love what they do!
The boss says his favorite part of the day is recalling all the wonderful accolades that he hears from his customers about his staff.
In 1991 Steve Smeed left his teaching position at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School after 18 years with the hope of combining his two passions - teaching and gardening.
Every Bloomin' Thing prides itself on having an extensive line of trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials from dozens of vendors across the country.
We search for the best quality products and offer them at the most reasonable prices.
At Every Bloomin' Thing we offer FREE landscape design.
Just bring us a rough sketch of the area to be designed with footage and sun conditions.
Snap a few pictures to give us an idea of the scope of the yard/house.
Then let our experienced staff walk you around and suggest options for each area.
While basic items such as azaleas, rhododendrons, hollies, etc. are well represented, it is in the array of the unusual and the unique that separates Every Bloomin' Thing from other garden centers.
With over forty varieties of Japanese maples and hundreds of unusual conifers, including many dwarf varieties, it is easy for the consumer to create a truly one-of-a-kind look for their home.
Every year Steve and Scott Smeed, the owners of Every Bloomin' Thing, visit growers on the West Coast to hand pick specimens for shipment to our Garden Center.
Perennials are plants that do not die after one season.
During the winter months, they "die back" or go dormant.
When spring arrives they begin to grow again.
Being perennial does not mean that it lives forever.
Sometimes perennials will live only 2-3 years.
They can be split or divided after a year or two to share with neighbors or to make a new garden in your yard.
Generally, bloom time is 4-5 weeks.
However, there are several perennials that bloom for much longer including Cranesbill Rozanne, Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, Russian Sage and Catmint.
A true annual is a plant that completes its life cycle in one year - meaning it grows from seed, produces flowers all season long and then dies.
An annual's "mission" is to produce seed and propagate.
Therefore, when we say you have to deadhead an annual, the reason is so they will produce more flowers and not go to seed.
As you visit our two greenhouses you will see that Every Bloomin' Thing carries all the old standby's such as marigold and petunias.
But we also carry the latest annuals of choice known as 'Proven Winners'.
