Growing up just outside of Pittsburgh in 1950's Etna, Ed spent all of his time outside.
He spent his childhood building ponds, dams, streams, and walls in the woods behind his childhood home.
Ed's mother, Zedora, taught him how to build walls by helping him build a small stone wall at the end of their drive.
The wall stood in place over fifty years until the new homeowner built a new driveway.
Ed and his wife Sue started their business in West Deer township, just a few minutes north of Pittsburgh.
