But it has grown into quite a collection of information about assorted topics related to my gardening. Such as visiting farmers markets and different growers around the island or attending horticultural clubs or sales. Occasionally I attend the plant shows and sales as a vendor when I'm selling my daylilies. It has been a busy spring and summer at my nursery, Big Island Daylily Co. and that has taken me away from my writing and adding to this site.
I'm hoping that the winter months will provide me with the time and funds to continue to write. Alas, at present my primary goal is to keep the nursery growing. So the dreamy days of playing in the garden are somewhat on hold. Which is too bad because it has been a banner year for daylilies and vireya and orchids and tropicals and everything. Quite spectacular.
We have been blessed with terrific weather this year and there are flowers galore to show for it. Anyway, Gardeners, please bear with me as I update (whenever possible) this web site and get back around to sending newsletters and creating drawings for fun gardening things.

I recently submitted a project to Kickstarter.com - Making Compost & Compost Tea.
This is an effort to secure funding to write, print, distribute and advertise my book(s).
Thus far I've written in starts and fits and whenever time and monies allowed but decided I needed help to get the next book in my series completed in a more timely manner.
I hope that you will check out my project at Kickstarter and think it worthwhile to back.
Pledging is easy and starts at $1.00 going up to $70.00.
A pledge of $25.00 or more will get you into the book's 'Mahalo' page and your choice of any of my books.

Kickstarter is a crowd funding web site designed to help get creative projects off the ground.
Ordinary, everyday people have an opportunity to sponsor and be a part of a creative project.
From art, dance, book writing, film making to design, production and creation of cutting edge, life changing products.
Writing books takes time and a certain amount of resources needs to be in place to get a book written, printed and distributed.
A set back for sure but not the end.
I will continue with my projects but they will take longer than I had hoped to get completed.
