Started by Dave in 1978, he was joined by his wife Leslie in 1980 and both have degrees from The Ohio State University in Horticulture.
Many years ago, we decided to grow plants that local nurseries did not stock.
The first criteria for choosing plants was whether or not they were hardy for our area--not just able to survive, but they had to thrive!
They also had to be pleasing to the eye and to have at least one characteristic that made them exceptional!
The fact that other garden centers overlooked these wonderful plants also made them attractive to us; we could fill a much needed niche in the market.

He much prefers teaching you and showing you how to do it rather than just "talking" about it.
