Wolf Hill has been a family owned and operated business since 1978. It was founded by brothers, Jim and John McKechnie. Our foundation is built on strong family values and dedication, which is the root to our success. We started out with one location in Gloucester, MA. This location consisted of a landscape division and, after a few years, grew into a retail store for garden center products and landscape supply materials, serving both homeowners and local contractors.
Since then, Wolf Hill has expanded to add an additional retail store in Ipswich, MA. Jim's wife, Kristine, and two daughters, Brittany and Lauren, work at Wolf Hill; John's wife, Pam, and their two children, Mark and Rachel also work at Wolf Hill to keep it growing as a family owned and operated business for the foreseeable future. Wolf Hill caters to contractors and first-time gardeners alike.

A full cord of firewood is 128 cubic feet, and when stacked it is about 8ft long x 4ft high x 4ft deep.
Stack it properly and make sure we measure up!
Our wood is sourced locally and is only hardwood species like oak, maple, beech and birch; not a mix of hardwoods and soft pine and spruce, like some other suppliers offer.
Our Kiln-Dried Firewood is the top choice for an easy to start, roaring fire full of ambiance on a cold night or when entertaining during the holidays.
Kiln-Dried firewood lights easily, burns hot and is best stored inside and under cover, like in a garage, shed or (dry) basement.

Due to the increased cost of trucking to our Gloucester location, we're unable to offer the same pricing for materials at all of our locations.
We apologize for any confusion this may cause.
Why doesn't each location stock the same products?
Our Ipswich location stocks Playground Mulch and Clamshells, but Gloucester does not.
This is because there is not enough storage space at our Gloucester location at this time.
We still offer delivery* to Rockport and Gloucester from our Ipswich location for these materials.
