During the Great Depression the great-grandfather of the owners, Ernest Scott served with the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked on numerous projects around the Northeastern United States.
His son, Larkin G. Scott enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating high school and served honorably in both WWII and the Korean War.
After his time in the military, he started a landscaping and tree service in Philadelphia, PA, which he ran until his retirement.
