Kalmia Landscape Design is a one woman landscape design only firm. I work with you to design your setting in a way that suits your lifestyle, values and budget. Kirsten's love for landscape design stems from her belief that our physical environments are instrumental in the way that we feel. She believes that landscapes can provide a sense of safety, inspiration, beauty, sensory stimulation, and reverence.
Whether it's simply walking in a garden or natural setting, sitting on a bench and listening to the sounds around you, or getting your hands in the dirt, Kirsten believes in the healing and transformative power of nature and the connection of mind and body that opening up to the natural world brings.
Currently pursuing a degree in Mental Health Counseling, Kirsten is planning to expand her work to include traditional talk therapy utilizing Therapeutic Horticulture and Expressive Arts modalities while continuing to do landscape design with a special focus on healing gardens.

St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Raleigh, NC is a 150 year old historically black Espicopal congregation in the heart of Raleigh, NC.
After needing to relocate the cremains of several parishioners due to a plumbing upgrade, the church envisioned a new garden that would provide a beautiful environment for people to visit their loved ones, a place in which to hold outside worship services, a garden for prayer, and an environmental asset to the local ecosystem.
Kirsten Reberg-Horton of Kalmia Landscape Design worked closely with the rector, Jemonde Taylor, and the members of the Capital Campaign committee as well as the entire congregation to design a garden that matched the congregation's needs and vision.
