We're a full-service, landscape design, build and maintenance company located on the island of Martha's Vineyard. We have decades of experience working with all aspects of the Vineyard's varied ecosystems, including rare and protected species. Our goal is to create a landscape that seamlessly integrates our client's vision of their new landscape construction or renovation with the existing natural setting.

We maintain a strong belief in the importance of using native plantings and organic gardening methods. We aim to create a site that is harmonious with the natural Vineyard landscape.
Services
We meet with our clients to get to know them and develop a thorough understanding of how they envision the overall look and function of their Martha's Vineyard landscape.
We carefully assess the unique physical properties of each site to determine what material from the site can be saved and used in the new landscape, and what materials and plants are best suited to the style of the home, along with the property's terrain, microclimates, and other factors.
After the initial client meeting, we design a preliminary landscape plan and review it with our client.
New landscapes are constantly evolving.
As plants grow and develop, they need periodic tending to retain the integrity of the original design.
Our maintenance crew is skilled at maintaining landscapes throughout the seasons, including spring clean-ups, plant health assessments, summer tending, autumn clean-ups, and winter protection.
Regular maintenance helps protect and grow your landscape investment.
Landscapes also sometimes require adjustments over time.
Our maintenance division works closely with our design/build team to understand the subtleties of each design and to help ensure that all aspects of the landscape continue to perform as designed and enhance the property.
At this Martha's Vineyard property, the clients wanted a pool and an outdoor living area.
We transformed the small lawn area below the deck into an area that would accommodate a 20-foot by 45-foot swimming pool, a pool house, and an outdoor living area.
We built a stone retaining wall with a seating bench in it.
The retaining wall provided space for a perennial bed.
In our plans to integrate the house naturally into the landscape, rather than have it stand out as a dominant feature, we nestled it into the land, a little lower than the high point of the property.
This balanced the house within the natural landforms and took advantage of its great pond surroundings.
The property is also a sandplain restoration project, in which about sixteen acres were restored as a natural habitat for rare species of birds, insects, flowers, and other wildlife that are in danger of becoming extinct.
This property had a small summer camp on it that sat just high enough to have a small water view of the Atlantic Ocean, along the south shore of Martha's Vineyard.
When a major renovation of the house took place, it provided an opportunity to do a fundamental redesign of the landforms as well as the gardens.
The house now sits higher in the landscape, maximizing its south shore pond and ocean views.
