Jeff Schwartz had a strong background in the landscape industry - and big ideas for the future.
At first, the team focused on specialized tree care, environmental mitigation and residential projects.
But soon the staff, equipment and projects would rapidly increase.
To accommodate that growth - and maintain easy access to multiple markets - the company acquired the historic Rice Manor property in Ashton, Maryland.
In addition to inspiring the company's name, the property provided room for more office space, mechanic shop facilities, recycling bins, and irrigated holding areas - as well as for 100 trucks.

His love of the outdoors began early with lawnmowing jobs, hikes at Billy Goat Trail, family camping trips, skiing adventures and more.
He earned his degrees in Environmental Science from the State University of New York and Johns Hopkins.
