Born in Louisville, Kentucky to Bubby and Shirley Benz and raised with his sister, Pam and his brother, Tony.
In Southwest Jefferson County, Allen Began working and learned his work ethic at a very young age in his father's grocery business Kwik Shop Food Marts, also of Louisville.
Allen worked for his dad until he completed high school and enlisted in the United States Army and left Louisville for basic training at Fort Benning Georgia just three days after turning 18. Completing Basic training, AIT, jump school, and Ranger training at Fort Benning, he went on to serve with several Rapid response combat units (75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning and Fort Lewis), 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, and the 101st Airborne Division Fort Campbell.
