Dale & Kathy Kwekel founded the Grand Haven Garden House in 1983 with the idea of providing beautiful plants for the Tri-Cities area and have been growing with the community ever since. Grand Haven Garden House is a band of plant-loving people who see the beauty in getting your hands dirty and doing a long day of work. The staff at Grand Haven Garden House & Floral consists of several individuals who enjoy working with people and plants, and helping customers to create beauty in and around their homes.
During the peak season, Grand Haven Garden House employs 25 - 30 plant enthusiasts. The Grand Haven Garden House takes pride in our ability to complete most any size job in a timely, professional manner. Our landscaping crew is made up of over 15 workers and is assisted by our clean and well maintained equipment, which includes dump trucks, pick-up trucks, Bobcat tractors, work vans, hydro-seeders and a large inventory of hand and power tools to complete your job.

When using stone to cover beds, we spread a 2 - 3 layer across.
A fabric or weed barrier will be used, unless otherwise requested.
Once the stone is in place, we rinse it thoroughly to remove quarry dust and to give a polished look.
We examine existing soil during both new installations and renovations to determine the lawn's ability to grow lush, healthy grass.
For new lawns, we add 3 - 4 of topsoil (renovated lawns may require less).
Fertilizer is then spread and sod is placed in the proper direction for sight.

Wood plant materials (trees and shrubs) that are purchased from and planted by Grand Haven Garden House & Floral will be guaranteed to live for one year, provided that the owner, according to our instruction sheet, gives responsible care to the plants.
This guarantee does not cover any materials that are transplanted.
Herbaceous plant materials (ground overs, perennials, etc.) being of a perishable nature will be guaranteed to live for the current growing season only.
A uniform stand of grass is guaranteed within one year of seeding, providing proper maintenance practices are carried out.

Newly installed lawns will need to be watered 2 - 3 times a day for 8 - 20 minutes each time until lawn is established, which is approximately 6 - 10 weeks depending on the time of year.
